Responsible mineral sourcing and transaction discipline
Mineral trading demands robust attention to provenance, counterparties, documentation, applicable law and responsible sourcing expectations. Our procedures are designed to support appropriate due diligence and transparent commercial records at every stage of a transaction.
We refer to international frameworks including the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas, the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, FATF recommendations on anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist financing, and applicable sanctions regimes.
Provenance & origin
We establish where material comes from and how it reached us. Licences, production records, chain-of-custody evidence and export permits are reviewed before any commercial commitment.
Counterparty due diligence
Know-Your-Customer and Know-Your-Business checks cover corporate identity, beneficial ownership, authority to trade and standing with regulators, for both suppliers and buyers.
Sanctions & AML
Parties, vessels and jurisdictions are screened against applicable UN, EU, UK and US sanctions lists. Payment flows are reviewed in line with anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing principles.
Ethics & anti-corruption
We apply a zero-tolerance approach to bribery, facilitation payments and conflicts of interest, consistent with leading international anti-corruption legislation.
Human rights & environment
We expect partners to respect human rights, reject child and forced labour, and manage environmental and community impacts responsibly. Small-scale producers are supported toward formalisation.
Records & audit
Each transaction is documented in a complete file covering due-diligence outcomes, contracts, certificates and shipping records, retained to support audits and regulatory enquiries.
Our commitment
Where we cannot verify origin, identity or lawful status, we do not trade. Our compliance function has authority to pause or decline any transaction, and we continuously review and strengthen our procedures as international standards develop.
Questions about our compliance approach, or requests for supporting documentation, are welcome through our contact page.
